Postcard Tales - Akeela Bhattay

This past weekend, I spent some time digging through old files on the hard-drive; cringing at photos and snippets of creative writing from a few years ago. These ‘Postcard Tales’ are some of the more pleasant discoveries I made. To encourage more people to write creatively, I designed a postcard which I then distributed around my university (De Montfort University, Leicester) with the hope of receiving a variety of short stories which I could then share online. As this was a university project, and I was (am) a very much in debt graduate after completing my studies, I couldn’t afford to keep the website running and I lay Postcard Tales to rest.

Here are just some of the Postcard Tales. I hope you enjoy the stories.

Aw. That was a nice way to start Wednesday reading those : ) I especially liked the Mousey McMiceton’s secret life in the office. Glad you shared this. I think people like to participate in something creative given the chance, it’s almost like a self-permission thing if they normally don’t do it in their day to day life.
I also know what you mean about looking at past creative output and having a cringe but sometimes you also get the ‘ I did THAT! Wow, that was cool.’ It goes both ways : ) xx
