Fellow bloggers enjoy luxury organic Melvita facials at Earth Hairdressing

I must confess, I’m no beauty expert. I never wore moisturiser on my face until my early 20s, nor did I ever use a body moisturiser until very recently. I knew looking after my skin was important, but I could never justify paying a premium for skincare or buying a dozen different products for daily use on my skin. There were always more important things to spend money on and to be quite honest, the idea of spending half an hour in front of the mirror beautifying my skin was simply too tiresome for me.

However, I have often admired the flawless and healthy derma of my friends and those I may have randomly observed and like many, I too have longed for beautiful, flawless skin. And at the Earth Hairdressing Bloggers Event, I enjoyed a little taste of the journey to gorgeous, healthy skin amongst other treats.

Simon from Melvita assessed my skin, and lifted my spirits by bestowing it a nearly glowing review. I then had my first facial ever – why oh why I hadn’t gifted myself this pleasure before, I Do know, and I silently berated myself for it as I indulged in the experience. Simon used wonderfully smelling and non-greasy organic Melvita products and spoke proudly and enthusiastically about Melvita’s ecological and altruistic values as well as dishing out lots of great advice without being patronising or attempting a hard sell, though if I had the funds to, I probably would have bought the entire range! And yes, from now on, I shall try to moisturise twice daily, use a natural skin toner, allow time for a face mask and generally treat my skin better. It deserves it!

Food to compliment their indulgent salon services at Earth Hairdressing

Whilst I enjoyed my facial, the very able Earth hairdressers dispensed their professional hair consultations to other guest; other staff members administered expert neck and shoulder massages and brave guests went under the thread to have their eyebrows shaped the South Asian way. I only ever have my eyebrows shaped via the threading method, so I too lined up eagerly for a Earth threading experience. I wish I could enthuse as much about the threading as I have about the facial, but as someone who is incredibly fussy about her eyebrows, I wasn’t ecstatic about the results.

Throughout the event the Earth Hairdressing staff lavished us with delicious sushi and drinks and made sure all of their guests were comfortable, happy and enjoying the experience the salon boasts. Born in Japan, the Earth Hairdressing concept has become a service that promises an indulgent and satisfying salon experience, as well as offering a plethora of services for a variety of requirements, including; Afro haircare via expert Afro stylists, VIP rooms, hair and beauty treatments and a must in today’s media thirsty climate, free Wi-Fi.

Located in Central London’s most popular shopping area – a short hop and skip from Oxford Circus tube station, Earth Hairdressing is conveniently and fashionably placed. Myself and other guests could very well have stayed at Earth Hairdressing all night, but alas the event had to come to an end, but we did not leave without a goodie bag full of mini salon treats including Melvita, Aveda and Mizani products from the wonderfully hospitable Earth Hairdressing salon.

Thanks to Lois Waller of Bunnipunch for the invite!

Envy! Sounded like an awesome event, except for the slightly dodgy threading. I’ve only ever had mine done once. I still recall the shock to my poor nerve endings. Facials are lovely, I’m glad you now know this.. x
