Tights and Tea with Tights Please

Tea and tights – two of my favourite things. And on a lovely spring afternoon where the sky played happily with the sun, (before the clouds were let off the naughty step this week to cause chaos)I found myself walking through Soho to the Dean Street Townhouse for afternoon tea, with the lovely people at Tightsplease and some of my fabulous fellow bloggers (including Alex of Alex Loves).

I love meeting people from ‘back home’, so I was thrilled to discover that the Tightsplease team were visiting from Birmingham. Although I love London and it is home to me now, I do have a soft spot for the city I grew up in and where my family reside, so it is always serendipitous when I meet Brummies/ Brum residents in London.

Our afternoon teas ordered and introductions made, we were invited to view the new Tightsplease Lookbook as well as the fantastically styled display of new tights on the online store. Tightsplease have an amazing range of tights and boast an impressive variety of brands, Lacy tights, bright tights, patterned tights and more – my senses were already being indulged and we had yet to tuck in to finger sandwiches, scones and petit fours.

The very efficient and friendly staff at the Dean Street Townhouse decorated our table what was to be a scrumptious afternoon tea. The scones were especially delicious; straight out of the oven hot, crumbly on the outside soft and almost spongy on the inside with just the right amount of sweet succulent raisins, served with raspberry and strawberry compotes and clotted cream of course.

When we weren’t enjoying every bite of English goodness, we discussed our blogs and the fashion blogging world in general; how we came to travel the peculiar road of the blog, the various styles of blogging and the things we like to blog about. As you know by now, I like tights and blogging about them, so I was delighted to accept a goody bag full of pretty tights for me to take home after the mammoth afternoon tea.

I’m currently awaiting the arrival of some gorgeous tights I saw on the Tightsplease online store, which I’m sure I’ll be writing about. So if like me you’re a tights fiend, stay tuned!
